From the foregoing, I presume that Avvo is not considered an ethics train wreck. Ideally, now, hungry lawyers do not try to almost offer legal advice. Neither do they attempt to pump ratings on the theory that anyone can offer an opinion.
On the other hand, Bates v. State Bar of Arizona, 433 U.S. 350 (1977) duly considered, it still comes awfully close to advertising.
