Sweet. Where can i get one?
Begin threadjack:
Marc, longtime reader and lurker here. I am writing to ask whether you’ve heard about the libel suit that Redskins owner Dan Snyder has filed against the D.C. City Paper. TLDR version: City Paper publishes piece critical of Snyder. Snyder sues. I am under the impression that the broad consensus is that the claim is baseless. The suit seems to be as SLAPPy as they come, and a Redskins front-office guy even said “the cost of litigation would presumably quickly outstrip the asset value of the Washington City Paper [a lowly alt weekly].”
The City Paper has set up a legal defense fund. My question is whether you know a free speech/civil liberties/anti-SLAPP type lawyer who might take this thing on pro bono or for reduced fees?
I have no personal stake in this. Just thought it sounded right up this blog’s alley. This person would probably become a local hero if he could kill the suit.
