Following up on Marc’s earlier coverage of Phillip Greaves’ arrest in Pueblo, Colo., on charges brought by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, we now have the arrest warrant and affidavit. This document sheds a little more light on how the case was developed, including the affiant’s communication with Greaves under an assumed name to obtain a copy of The Pedophile’s Guide to Love & Pleasure.
Greaves actually makes a great defendant: no previous convictions; public statements that he’s not promoting pedophilia and two tame tales of underage sex which are nothing compared to any number of books which are sold on Amazon by mainstream publishers. Money will be raised for his bail. He’ll have a good lawyer on this case (Larry Walters). Grady Judd will hopefully become a public embarrassment even to his supporters after that.
Did he hire Larry? I hope so. If you’re going to do battle with Polk County, Larry Walters is the man for the job.
I think Larry will work in the background with the PD. I don’t think this will be a difficult case. At least under 847.011(1)(c), it’s dead in the water. Tell me if you don’t agree:
