hm, is anyone pursuing the child-pornography angle for these scumbags? At least for yougotposted.com (which I think is related to the same people as isanyonedown.com and so on, no?) there are some underage girls depicted, but is it hopeless to pursue legally (I am not a lawyer)? Ie. would they be able to claim no knowledge of the fact that the girl(s) (and probably guys as well) were underage, since it was “user submitted” (hrm hrm)?

It would seem a somewhat more efficient strategy to me (again IANAL), if possible, to nail them for childporn instead of e.g. cybersquatting: It’s the content that’s really objectionable, not (so much) their business methods, IMO.

I mean, I think this site should be taken down, but I’m having trouble figuring out why one type of extortion (this) should draw First Amendment lawyers ire, yet there are countless mugshot websites that have been doing this same sort of things for years.

Did anybody else notice this statement on the “jobs” portion of their website: “If you are or have ever been a member of law enforcement, any federal agency, etc. you are ineligible for this position and cannot contact us.” I primarily deal in corporate and finance law, but wouldn’t that statement alone violate 38 USC 4311(a)? I’m not sure if USERRA has a threshold number of employees like EEOA, or if anyone would have standing without actually trying to gain employment, but it might be something if anyone’s better than me at wading through employment law.
