Zoo Breaks Up With Creation Museum

The Cincinnati “Creation Museum,” and the Cincinnati Zoo recently teamed up in a cross-marketing plan that allowed tourists to purchase a ticket that would admit visitors to both attractions for one price.

The Cincinnati Zoo pulled out of the deal after two days of criticism. Those opposed to the partnership citied the Zoo’s scientific mission and its conflict with the Museum, which “has been praised by supporters as a bulwark against evolutionary teachings.” (source)

The Museum features a triceratops with a saddle on its back and other absurdities. For example, the Museum’s owner believes that the world is 6,000 years old. (source)

One Cincinnati resident praised the divorce. Scott Nazzarine, a Cincinnati-based First Amendment laywer said, “even in good ol’ Cincinnati rational thought and public pressure won out in the marketplace of ideas (at least for a little bit anyway).”
