MSNBC reports:
COLUMBIA, S.C. – A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him “constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil.”
Funny. But when Cardinal Bernard Law (former Cardinal of the Archdiocese of Boston) learned that his priests were molesting little boys, he just shifted them around so they could molest fresh crops of new boys. When Bernie Law was looking at being called to task for it, the Pope reassigned him to the Vatican (and out of reach of the Massachusetts authorities).
Question: If voting for Obama is “material cooperation with intrinsic evil,” what is giving a donation to the largest child molestation ring in history? I’m not suggesting that giving money to the Catholic Church is evil, nor that it shows support for child molestation — but if Rev. Jay Scott Newman’s logic is valid, well then… the shoe fits.
UPDATE: Much to the Church’s credit, the Diocese of Charleston has repudiated this priest’s position, going so far as to imply that it is anti-Catholic. Apparently the Cardinal does not believe that the shoe fits.

i THINK THAT IT IS TIME FOR THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ALL OTHER CHURCHES TO KEEP THEIR NOSE OUT OF POLITICE. YES, ABORTION IS NOT THE RIGHT THING TO DO, BUT FOR A PRIEST TO THREATEN HIS OR ANY OTHER CONGREGATION IN ITS SELF IS A BREECH OF USE, AND IF IT CONTINUES, THEN SOME SHOULD CONTACT THE IRS, AND THEY SHOULD LOSE THEIR TAX EXEMPT STATUS, AND THIS PRIEST, HE SHOULD LOSE HIS STATUS AS A PRIEST.

If I were one of the attendees at the Catholic Church in quesiton, I would leave a piece of paper in the collection plate. It would say:
“No Communion, No Money”

Most of us have heard the old proverb “DON’T DO AS I DO, DO AS I SAY DO” its alright for priests & ministers to rape & molest children, and not be punish for their crime, and for nuns getting pregnant, and aborting the babies, (but if you voted for “Obama” I will not give you communion. If you read the bible you will see that the church & politics don’t mix very well, that was the reason Christ died on the cross.

I would like to suggest that these same christians who oppose abortion so vehemently, boycott all chinese products. (see: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/world/story/55894.html) After all, by purchasing products made in China, are they not supporting forced abortions through purchasing of their products?
Having grown up being heavily indoctrinated in “the church”, I still find it amazing the double standards that STILL exist!
