Roger, Dan! I've not seen the particular video in question, nor am I the least bit interested in watching it. As the article and Dan note, this is a matter of free choice. Protecting *children* is one thing. Protecting me (at nearly 58 years old) is a waste of government resources. Which means MY resources, which means MY money through taxes.

Prosecutors do have to enforce the law, no matter how stupid the law may be. They also should lobby to eliminate stupid laws so they can devote their time to going after people who commit acts we all agree are criminal, such as murder and rape.

I remember one time when I worked over the Christmas break at a local equivalent to a Wal-Mart while I was in university in Texas (my home state) and a guy came in desperate to buy some disposable diapers. It was Sunday, and the relevant so-called "blue law" was still in effect, which prevented me from legally letting him buy them, though we had them in stock. We didn't *have* any cloth diapers; had we had, I could have sold him those. (His baby was sick and running through diapers by the case, he said.) I let him get some disposable diapers, then led him to the cash register. The store had hired an off-duty police officer, a guy I knew, to work security during the holiday, and he happened to be near the register. Told him the story and held my hands out, as if awaiting his handcuffs. He snorted, told the guy he hoped the babe got well soon, and marched off [so as not to witness the terrible crime].

Texas lawmakers finally woke up and smelled the coffee sometime later and repealed the law.

Lawmakers at all levels that have such stupid laws ought to be repealing them left, right, and center.

"Two Girls, One Cup is a monstrosity. [...] Therefore, I have exercised my right to not watch it."

Took the words out of my mouth. Screw the ten commandments, THIS should be on stone tablets outside of every courthouse.

Brilliantly articulated! I have actually watched 2 Girls 1 Cup, and it does live up to the hype. I probably should have filmed my reaction.
